SWTOR: Game update 1.1 – ‘Rise of the Rakghouls’ coming soon
Update: Game Patch 1.1 delayed: “Game Update 1.1 will be rescheduled for some time within the next few days,” from the company’s website. BioWare said on its blog “will now occur at a later date due to issues requiring additional testing that have been discovered with the Game Update 1.1 content on the Public Test Server. These issues were primarily brought to our attention by the diligent players on the Public Test Server Forums. Your participation in testing helps to improve the game as a whole, and we appreciate your discussion and feedback. The bug reports you provide are a valuable part of the development process.”
On January 17, players will get the newest, and first of its kind, game update 1.1 offering several bug fixes and new content. BioWare has received much praise for its latest game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and thus far has done quite well as one of the fastest growing subscription games ever released. While the new content is nothing huge, the fact BioWare is releasing new content this early after release shows good signs for its fans.
“There are a number of additions to the game with Game Update 1.1. One of these is a vast expansion of the already-existing “Karagga’s Palace” Operation. This addition will more than triple the size of the Operation as a whole! Playing through the expanded Hutt Hospitality Operation will test you and your allies’ skills against Karagga’s private army of bounty hunters and battle Droids before culminating in a massive final battle! Making your way through Karagga’s palace will reward you with powerful new gear, and even more extravagant rewards for those who take on the Operations in hard mode!”, BioWare said on its website.
Game update 1.1 will feature a new Flashpoint “Kaon Under Siege”, taking players to the planet of Kaon which was decimated by a mysterious outbreak of the Rakghoul virus. Players will fight their way through hordes of an assortment of monstrosities and will need to locate a small band of survivors to learn the truth behind what caused the outbreak. The new Flashpoint will offer players a chance to experience a new story while earning new gear being introduced into the game.
Patch 1.1 Updates make mention of several changes and fixes, one of which made many players happy “Anti-aliasing is now available and can be enabled in the preferences menu.” A full list of the patch notes can be found here, along with an additional notes page on 1.1 patch notes here.
