Off-Beat: 57 Year Old Parking Ticket Paid In Full
A man walked into York Police Station and paid off his mothers 57 year old parking ticket. The ticket fine: a dime! The man even walked in with the ticket framed and plans to hang it in his office. The ticket was issued on July 13, 1954 to a vehicle licensed in Oklahoma.
According to the New York Times , Police Chief Don Klug said a man walked into the police station with the ticket that had been found among his mother’s possessions.
That citation was originally issued on July 13th, 1954 in the town of York to a car that was licensed out of Oklahoma. The man, who didn’t give his name, said he believed his mother had been visiting the city at that time and probably lost track of it.
