Microsoft’s new logo – bland or brand?
Microsoft’s new logo doesn’t seem to appeal to many with its new modern look, or someone at the branding office forgot to take their happy pills. It’s just too bland, flat and just unappealing for me. (I guess someone at Microsoft figured out how to use MS Paint too well)
“The logo has two components: the logotype and the symbol. For the logotype, we are using the Segoe font which is the same font we use in our products as well as our marketing communications,” Jeff Hansen, general manager for Brand Strategy at Microsoft said.
“The symbol is important in a world of digital motion. The symbol’s squares of color are intended to express the company’s diverse portfolio of products.” Hansen later stated.
