Intel launches 520 Solid-State Drive Series

After a year of its 510 series release, Intel throws out another grand Solid State Drive: the 520 series. Using 25nanometer NAND Flash Memory, the SSD 520 series pushes performance with random reads up to 50,000 input/output operations per second (55 megabytes per second).

Read performance with random writes of up to 80,000 input/output operations per second (520 megabytes per second) making the 520 an ideal choice for gamers wanting intense multi-tasking features.

Intel’s 520 SSD also offers security features above any of the company’s previous SSD drives to date by providing preconfigured Intel Advanced Encryption Standard New Instructions (Intel AES-NI) 256bit encryption capabilities.

“In the event of theft or loss of your computer, you have the peace of mind that your personal data is secured by an advanced encryption technology. Additionally, the Intel SSD 520 Series contains “End-to-End Data Protection” ensuring integrity of stored data from the computer to the SSD and back.” Intel said on its website.
