Google Maps: most ridiculous caught on camera
Google ‘street view’ technology is quite fascinating, and gives those looking for directions a visual view of their destinations. It has, however, brought privacy concern over the years—but we all still love ‘street view’ ability. Face it: it’s simply amazing and even offers a quick virtual vacation for those that don’t get out much.
Over the years it has also capture some pretty amazing, and disturbing, photos. Street view technology is no simple, cheap method. Google has spent a lot of time and effort into this feature by driving vehicles across the U.S., and across the blue-yonder, sporting a 360-camera mounted on top of its cars.
Simply drive and the system does the rest—with a lot of other work behind the scene once the data is gathered. Such behind the scene is blurring the license plates on vehicles captured in its process, along with any other questionable material. At times the blurring of these questionable ‘things’ reminds me of Jimmy Kimmel’s “Unnecessary Censorship” segment on the show.
Here are just a few samples of some crazy shenanigans’ caught on Google Street View–these could be your neighbors!
