Extended Mass Effect 3 ending to add variations and not choices

The ending of Mass Effect 3 has left many fans, well, unsatisfied — to say the least. The game has been a huge success, but fans were quick to take to the internet when the end of the game was reached (or lack there of). That will soon change with a new extended free downloadable add-on.

From the fans’ standpoint, the ending of Mass Effect 3 was much like watching and movie and being asked to lave 20 minutes before the ending. While some took to the courts, yes actually filing a lawsuit, BioWare has come forth and recognized that its fans do in fact deserve a better ending — that with variations and not choices.

Mass Effect 3′s new ending will not be a whole new ending but instead an improved version. ”Much of the focus of the Extended Cut is to expand on the variety of consequences of player choices and degrees of success,” the spokesperson said, “so, with the new content, the player’s choices should result in a much more varied experience.” BioWare has also mentioned players “should be able to grab a save file before the endgame and experience the new content from there.”

“We are all incredibly proud of Mass Effect and the work done by Casey Hudson and team,” said Bioware co-founder and GM Ray Muzyka in a statement. “Since launch, we have had time to listen to the feedback from our most passionate fans and we are responding. With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut, we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe.”
