Chinese toddler rescued from 40ft well with help of a smartphone
A Chinese toddler is rescued from a 40ft well with the help of an iPhone video camera. By using the iPhone video camera, rescue workers were able lower the smartphone into the narrow shaft to visually see the best possible way to loop the straps around the boy — later hoisting him up and out of the shaft to safety. When humans and technology work together, a life can be saved.
Chinese state media said he was hauled out of the well and freed by about 10pm local time on Saturday (noon GMT). Doctors at a nearby hospital said the boy was left bruised but not seriously injured.
