AMD Memory ModulesAMD announces its availability of the first AMD Memory branded desktop memory modules for entertainment and gaming platforms. Partnering with Patriot Memory and VisionTek Products, AMD memory modules will be designed to help take the guesswork out of DRAM selection for consumers by providing an easy and clear-cut experience for gaming and multimedia systems providing Radeon, Performance and Entertainment series editions.

AMD’s memory modules will be available in three different sizes from 2GB, 4GB and 8GB with a verity of pricing and speeds. It will also have an entertainment category featuring 1333Mhz and 1600Mhz RAM speeds aimed at home theater based systems. For higher performance requirements AMD will offer a low latency matched pair version at 1600Hz and also announced a Radeon Edition DRAM at 1866Mhz.

“AMD has been supplying and validating memory for AMD Radeon™ graphics cards for several years,” said Matt Skynner, corporate vice president and general manager, AMD GPU Division. “Based on this experience, adding system memory to our product line was a clear opportunity for us. This move provides our partners and end-users with a trusted brand synonymous with quality – we can help ensure performance and reliability with AMD Memory.”

AMD’s Memory will also take advantage of the company’s OverDrive tool, optimizing performance with the company’s processors. The memory will be available across North America from major retailers including Amazon.com, Bestbuy.ca, Fry’s, Memory Express, Micro Center, NCIX, Newegg, Tiger Direct, and more.
