3D home printing: If you can think it, you can print it
Think it, print it. That’s pretty much what this printer does and is available to consumers — and not at the price tag you might think. Abe Reichental, CEO of 3D Systems Corp, demonstrates a home 3-D printer on CNN making 3D models. Probably the most impressive display of 3D printed models was the shoe, which Reichental said was “perfectly functional”.
3D printing has been around for some time, but has not been readily available to public hands — until now. 3D Systems corp now offers its 3D Home printers for around $1,300.00 USD, making it a bit more affordable. 3D Systems is also heavily involved in prosthetics with its technology. From sports, product design to healthcare; 3D Systems brings new meaning to “can you print that out for me?”
